Observe and document children’s progress using objective notes and basic screening/assessment tools to inform instruction and referrals when needed. 2) Health, Safety & Wellness Maintain safe, healthy learning environments by following licensing standards, sanitation procedures, supervision practices, and emergency preparedness protocols. Promote children’s wellness through routines that support nutrition, physical activity, rest, and social-emotional safety. 3) Positive Guidance & Social-Emotional Support Use trauma-informed, culturally responsive guidance strategies that prevent challenging behavior and build self-regulation, empathy, and problem-solving skills. Implement consistent classroom routines and relationship-based practices that strengthen belonging and reduce behavior incidents. 4) Curriculum & Lesson Planning Design and deliver lesson plans aligned to early learning standards, using play-based and intentional teaching strategies across learning domains. Differentiate instruction to meet individual needs, including dual language learners and children with identified delays or disabilities. 5) Learning Environment & Classroom Management Set up and maintain effective learning centers that encourage exploration, independence, and active engagement. Manage transitions and daily schedules to maximize learning time and minimize disruptions. 6) Family Engagement & Communication Build respectful partnerships with families through clear communication, confidentiality, and strengths-based approaches.
